FORECASTER: Juris Almonte & Selina Mitchell 
​SYNOPTIC OVERVIEW: Low pressure system that is expected to develop to the south of Alberta/ Saskatchewan that will change the flow to a more upslope flow over the Rockies. 
NIPIKA:
GEM 2.5 is showing precipitation to begin early afternoon and end this evening, however convective storms are already on the Silver Star radar and may occur earlier in the day. Some embedded disturbance can be seen at the 500 hPa charts with the vorticity. 

NAM (1800 UTC) is showing precipitation to begin around 1700 UTC and end around May 25 - 0700 UTC. 
FORTRESS MOUNTAIN: 
GEM 2.5 (1800 UTC) is showing precipitation to begin this morning around 8 AM and early afternoon. There will be a short break from early afternoon and will begin again this evening around 0100 UTC (May 25). This is a long duration storm that is expected to end around early Saturday afternoon. GEM 2.5  are expecting  ~13 mm of rain and ~10 cm of snow. Temperatures for this storm will be above freezing, but some mixed precipitation may occur. This is a somewhat upslope type event, with winds coming from the NE. 

NAM (1800 UTC) is showing  36.5 mm of rain and 20.7 cm of snow starting last night around 0600 UTC and ending Sunday May 26 ~0000 UTC.
