Instruments

Nipika Mountain Resort

  • Campbell scientific HS2-C3-L: temperature and relative humidity
  • Campbell Scientific RM Young 5103AP-10-L: Alpine Anemometer measures wind direction and wind speed
  • Barometric pressure sensor CS106 - absolute pressure
  • Geonor T-200B: All precipitation weighing bucket with single alter shield
  • Metek Micro Rain Radar 2: Vertically pointing radar profiler. Height range set at 200 m
  • OTT Parsivel2: Laser optical disdrometer that measures all precipitation types, binning hydrometeors into 32 separate size and velocity classes
  • 2 SR-50: Snow depth sensors, facing east and west off tripod

Fortress Junction Service (valley)

  • Vaisala WXT520: all-in-one weather sensor. Records air pressure, temperature, relative humidity, rainfall, wind speed and wind direction
  • Vaisala HMP155 - temperature and relative humidity sensor
  • Pluvio 2 - weighing precipitation gauge
  • Metek Micro Rain Radar 2- Vertically pointing radar profiler. Height range set at 50 m. Records at 5 minute intervals
  • Halo Photonics Doppler LiDAR - 360 degree sky scanner, profiling the winds. Default retrieval settings.

Fortress Powerline (mountain top)

  • Vaisala WXT520: all-in-one weather sensor. Records air pressure, temperature, relative humidity, rainfall, wind speed and wind direction. Records at 1 minute intervals
  • Vaisala HMP155 - temperature and relative humidity sensor. Records at 1 minute intervals
  • Pluvio 2 - weighing precipitation gauge. Records at 1 minute intervals
  • Metek Micro Rain Radar 2- Vertically pointing radar profiler. Height range set at 35 m. Records at 1 minute intervals.
  • OTT Parsivel - Laser optical disdrometer that measures all precipitation types, binning hydrometeors into 32 separate size and velocity classes. Records at 1 minute intervals
  • Halo Photonics Doppler LiDAR - 360 degree sky scanner, profiling the winds. Default retrieval settings.
  • Microseven Cam 16 & Cam 17  -
* Parsivel1 and Parsivel2 have slight differences. Both record the same spectra, however Parsivel2 has slightly reduced uncertainty with the classification of hydrometeors and also reduced uncertainty of rain rate that is < +/- 5%
