SYNOPTIC OVERVIEW
Currently a higher pressure system is installed over the southern Canadian Rockies suppressing the formation of precipitation in the region. CaPA shows no precipitation in the region in the last 6 hours from 12:00 MDT. Radar also shows no precipitation in the region. Wind flow in the region is easterly to southeasterly.

​NIPIKA
The high resolution models are not expecting precipitation for this night and tomorrow MDT. There is a chance of precipitation to happen on Friday afternoon until Saturday afternoon MDT predicted by GEM 10 km (4 mm) and NAM 12 km (14.1 mm). RAP is starting to agree with NAM, showing 2 mm of rainfall tomorrow from 14:00 to 16:00 MDT. Temperatures will vary between 5 and 15 ºC.

​FORTRESS
The high resolution models are not expecting precipitation for this night and tomorrow MDT. There is a chance of rainfall and trace snowfall to start on Friday afternoon MDT predicted by GEM 10 km (3.7 mm). NAM 12 km is expecting precipitation to happen on Thursday 13:00 until Saturday 18:00 MDT (total accumulation of 88.6 mm). This prediction is showing that precipitation will be composed by 51.3 mm of rainfall and 37.3 cm of snowfall. We will keep an eye at this predicted event with the next model runs and weather radar. RAP is starting to agree with NAM, showing some rain showers and lighting from 15:00 to 16:00 MDT. Temperatures will vary from -1 to 9 ºC.
