FORECASTER: Juris Almonte
SYNOPTIC OVERVIEW: Similar to the previous forecast,  a low pressure system is situated over southern interior of BC, bringing SE flows to the SPADE area. 
Nipika
GEM 2.5 (1800 UTC) shows more concentrated duration of precipitation from May 17 0500 UTC  to 1100 UTC, with ~9 mm with temperatures expected to be higher than 5C, with rain occurring. 

Another ~6 mm of precipitation over a 7 hour duration is expected to begin again at May 18 0200 UTC ending 0900 UTC. There is a slight chance of mixed precipitation, however this is more likely another 250 m above Nipika. 
Fortress
​GEM 2.5 (1800 UTC) is showing higher precipitation amounts over Fortress than earlier model runs. Precipitation will begin later than at Nipika around 1000 UTC with the first round of precipitation ending  around 1300 UTC. 1.3 cm of snow is expected during this episode.

However Strathmore radar is showing precipitation beginning south of our region and heading North towards Fortress. 

Precipitation begins again at 1800 UTC, ending at May 18 0600 UTC, with snow amounts around ~13 cm .
